4140 Appeal of Admission Decisions

An applicant for admission to the school district will be notified in writing of the decision of the superintendent or his or her designee within 10 working days of submitting all the information required under policy 4120 or 4130. Decisions regarding discretionary admissions for the following year may be delayed until the Wilkes County Board of Education has determined whether space is available in the school.

A final decision regarding admission may be appealed to the Board of Education. An appeal to the Board of Education must be received in writing no later than five working days following receipt of the decision of the superintendent. The Board of Education will make a written determination within 30 days of receiving the request.
