The Wilkes County Board of Education shall pay a salary supplement within 5 business days prior to the Thanksgiving holidays. The rate of the supplement will be established each fiscal year by the Board of Education in the Current Expense Budget.
The supplement is paid with the understanding an employee will be employed the entire school year based on the appropriate academic calendar. Employees actively employed on November 1st qualify for the supplement. If separation of employment occurs after November 1st a prorated amount of the supplement will be recouped or must be paid back to the district based on the date of separation. Temporary employment positions do not qualify for the supplement.
The superintendent shall have the responsibility for negotiating salary supplements for any other administrative positions.
