3440 Recognizing Excellence

The Wilkes County Board of Education strongly encourages programs and activities which recognize and reward excellence among students in academic achievement, character, and leadership and attendance.

A variety of programs may be implemented to recognize excellence: these may include honor rolls, honor organizations; citizenship, leadership, and attendance awards. The Board of Education encourages school recognition ceremonies and community recognition ceremonies to honor scholarship, distinguished character, and leadership abilities.

Administrators and teachers will be responsible for developing and implementing any means of recognizing excellence.
