Ronda Clingman Elementary School's PFE Plan

School Year: 2025-2026
School: Ronda Clingman Elementary School
Date Submitted: August 12, 2025
Policy Involvement
Over the summer, RCES will host a leadership team meeting and a PTO/Parent Advisory to
plan ahead for the upcoming school year. Prior to the start of school, during the Open
House Block Party, we will share information with families regarding our school's
participation in and requirements of Title I and Parents' Right to Know. The principal will
also facilitate Parent Advisory Council meetings in conjunction with the quarterly PTO
curriculum nights to update families and provide upcoming information and events.
These meetings will be offered in the evening, after working hours, for the convenience of our
stakeholders. All information will be provided in a language and format understandable to
our stakeholders. If needed, interpreters will also be present for support and clarification of
any communication. If families are not able to attend, families can reach out to the school, and
an alternate time can be arranged for them to meet with the principal and additional
stakeholders.
The School Improvement Team also has parent representation, and these monthly meetings are
held as open meetings.
The District and School Title I Parent and Family Engagement Policies will be included and
distributed in our annual Parent/Student Handbook. Parents return a signed form stating that
they have received this information. Parents may contact the school via phone or email at any
time with feedback, questions, and suggestions.
Shared Responsibility for High Student Academic Achievement
Teacher/Parent/Student Agreements and Expectations will be discussed with our Parent
Advisory. During this time, we will survey and solicit feedback as we continue to improve our
Parent and Family Engagement Policy. School/Parent/Guardian Compacts are collected from
all students with the signature of the principal, teacher, parent/guardian, and student. These
compacts serve as a bridge of how school and home will work together towards the success of
each child. These are maintained in Crate, as well as our Title I folders.
Building Capacity for Involvement
RCES plans four family involvement nights each school year, focusing on celebrating academic
growth and achievements. These events are congruent with our PTO meetings and grade-level
music performances. These nights are established to provide parents with strategies in each
curricular area to help their child be successful. RCES also conducts other informational
meetings for parents, such as Read to Achieve night. These meetings are planned throughout
the school year. Family movie nights, Fall Festival, music performances, and Terrific Kids
Celebrations are some of the other activities RCES conducts during the school year. RCES
teachers and students also facilitate family conferences to provide opportunities for
collaboration regarding the progress of the children. Prior to the first day of school, families
will be invited to meet and collaborate with their child's teacher.
Accessibility
The programs offered at RCES will be scheduled in the evenings after work hours. We also
provide information on our school website, in addition to social media. Administration sends
weekly phone calls and emails to every family via Messenger. Staff are able to provide
administration with information prior to 3:00 PM each Friday on things they would like to be
included in the calls. When necessary, paper copies of information are sent home with students.
Our teachers will provide flexible scheduling for individual parent-teacher conferences. RCES
also has an interpreter who attends meetings, makes phone calls, and translates any documents
that need to go home. Our school also utilizes Facebook and Remind as a means of communication to families and the community.
Funding
Utilizing Title I Parent and Family Engagement funds, RCES plans to budget for an
instructional assistant who will directly work with students and collaborate with school staff to
support the success of the school community. We also plan to utilize these funds for yearly
mailings, informational handouts to promote student attendance, study habits, exceptional
children services, and any other information for parents to help their students be successful.
Funds will also be utilized to purchase IXL for all students in grades K-5th, Letterland resources
to support core instruction in grades K-2nd, and to purchase laptops to replace those that are
older.
This document was jointly developed with our Parent Advisory Council. Every meeting with
our parents is documented with an agenda, sign-in sheet, and minutes of the meeting. For a copy
of any of the documentation mentioned in this plan, please contact Mrs. Kinder at 336-651-4200.
