North Wilkesboro Elementary hosted their first Culture Fair on Friday, September 13th. Students shared information with their peers through special displays of cultural regions and had exhibits of traditional clothing, musical instruments, artifacts, and native foods. Congratulations to Logan Call from North Wilkes High School and Justin Call from East Wilkes High School! During the recent meeting of the Regional North Carolina High School Athletic Association, they were both presented with the Region 7 Special Person Award! This award is given to individuals who have supported NCHSAA and its mission to serve member schools and student-athletes! Way to go!

We are currently taking applications for the T3LC Youth Philanthropy Grants. Grants for up to $4,000 are available for youth-led projects. The deadline is January 24, 2025. Click the headline above to learn more!

Wilkes County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for students tomorrow, Tuesday, January 7.

This will allow us extra time to assess road conditions. Should conditions be worse than anticipated, you will be contacted just after 7:00 am with an update. At that point, tomorrow would become a Remote Learning Day.

North Wilkes High School's Teaching as a Profession Honors students toured Central Services on September 24, 2024, to learn more about the inner workings of a school system. They also met with Superintendent Mark Byrd to share their goals and ideas with him! The district office was excited to host and encourage this enthusiastic group of future educators!
