Our women's softball state champions from East Wilkes High School excel both on and off the field! On September 4th, they earned the 2023-2024 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors for their team GPA of 3.905. They ranked #5 out of 95 teams! What an awesome accomplishment, ladies! Congratulations to Dr. Joe Bullis, Executive Director of Career & Technical Education and Federal Programs, for being selected as the 2023-2024 CTE Administrator of the Year for the Northwest Region! Dr. Bullis will advance to compete for NC CTE Administrator of the Year, and we wish him the best of luck at the state level!

Congratulations to our very own Mrs. Beckie Spears who was recently named 2024 Wells Fargo NC Principal of the Year! This is only the second time a Wilkes County principal has received this honor since the award was established in 1984. We are so proud of her leadership and the positive energy she brings to her school daily. Congratulations to Mrs. Spears and Wilkesboro Elementary School! What an HONOR!

Congratulations to the Child Nutrition Staff of the Year award winners who were recently recognized at their annual banquet. Jessica Brown from Millers Creek Elementary was named Manager of the Year, Toni Hayes from Roaring River Elementary was named Assistant Manager of the Year, and Christy Prevette from Millers Creek Elementary was named Employee of the Year. Way to go, ladies! Thanks for all you do!
