Focus Area 1: Academic Achievement
Goal One WCS will increase the graduation cohort rate from 87% up to 95% by June 2025.
Strategies:
  • WCS will identify students who are at-risk of failing to meet graduation requirements.
  • WCS will build the capacity of teachers in the multi-tiered system of support (MTSS).
  • WCS will engage parents/guardians/families at all levels in building understanding of Career and College readiness.
  • WCS will support students in transitions between grade levels.
Goal Two WCS will increase math composite proficiency scores on End of Grade (EOG) and End of Course (EOC) to 72.7% by June 2025.
Strategies:
  • WCS will build the capacity of school staff in planning and pedagogy of the math curriculum.
  • WCS will strengthen core instruction in math.
  • WCS will use MTSS Interventions to increase math proficiency.
Goal Three WCS will increase reading composite proficiency scores on End of Grade (EOG) and End of Course (EOC) to 68.1% by June 2025.
Strategies:
  • WCS will build capacity of school staff in planning and pedagogy of the reading curriculum.
  • WCS will strengthen core instruction in reading.
  • WCS will use MTSS Interventions to increase reading proficiency.
Goal Four WCS will increase social/emotional competence of students through June 2025 reflected by universal screening results, behavioral referrals, and counselor referrals.
Strategies:
  • WCS will regularly assess the social/emotional needs of students.
  • WCS will build staff capacity to address social emotional learning (SEL) needs to increase academic achievement.
  • WCS will address the SEL needs of students and staff to increase academic achievement.
