Superintendent's Message and WCS Board of Education
Dear Wilkes County Schools Family Member,
It is with great pride that I share with you the Wilkes County Schools 2022-2025 Strategic Plan which was approved by our Board of Education on January 10, 2022. I am extremely proud of the work and effort that our principals and directors have put into the development of this plan. The real excitement will now take place as we begin the implementation of the strategies included in this plan.
Strategic plans are significant to school systems in that they allow leaders to focus on established priorities rather than being reactive in the decision making process. As we have learned through this pandemic, circumstances may alter short-term plans and goals, however, effective strategic planning prevents a loss of focus on long-term plans and objectives.
Our plan clarifies that the areas of focus for Wilkes County Schools over the next three years will be improved academic achievement, human resource development, improving the culture of our system and updates and improvements of facilities. Our students and staff members should benefit from this plan if it is implemented and monitored correctly.
In closing, we hope that you will read this plan and can see how it will benefit our students
and staff moving forward. Our goal will always be to provide the best educational opportunities possible for the students and staff of Wilkes County Schools and this plan should serve as a roadmap to help us reach that destination!
