The Board of Education of the Wilkes County Administrative Unit conducted a called meeting by phone on December 14, 2020 at 2:00 PM at 613 Cherry Street, North Wilkesboro, North Carolina 28659. The purpose of this called meeting was for approval of contracts for Chromebook purchases for students in Wilkes County Schools.
Present for the meeting by phone were Chairman Mr. Randall “Rudy” Holbrook, Vice-Chairman Mrs. Sharron Huffman, Board Members Mr. Kirk Walker, Mrs. Joan Caudill, and Mr. Hardin Kennedy, III. In addition, attending were Superintendent Mr. D. Mark Byrd, Chief Technology Officer Mrs. Julie Triplett, and Executive Administrative Assistant Mrs. Carolyn Triplett.
Chairman Mr. Rudy Holbrook called the meeting to order.
On a motion by Mrs. Caudill, seconded by Mrs. Huffman and duly carried, Applied Data Technologies was approved to provide Chromebooks to Wilkes County Schools. These devices will replace Chromebooks in our middle and elementary schools that will reach end of life status in September of 2021. HPI International provided the lowest bid of $287.56. After Board discussion, the motion was made to accept Applied Data Technologies with a bid of $289.11. This company has provided service in the past and served Wilkes County Schools well.
On a motion by Mrs. Huffman, seconded by Mr. Walker and duly carried, there being no further business, the Board adjourned at 2:15 PM.
