Kindergarten Enrollment

 
Welcome to Kindergarten
 
Kindergarten enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is open. Students must be at least 5 years old by August 31, 2025, to enroll in Kindergarten.
 
Enrollment is a multi-step process that begins in March.
  • During March, parents/guardians should attend your schools Fun Times event.
  • During April, parents/guardians should attend your schools Kindergarten Screening.
  • Contact your school to set up an appointment for screening. 
 
Families that cannot attend Kindergarten enrollment activities should contact the school in their attendance district for more information.
APPLICATIONS FOR 2024-2025
 
  • Fill out the Bus Ridership form.  Forms are located at each school.
 
  • Bring the following enrollment materials at your child's school on Kindergarten Screening Day.
    • Photo ID of parent/guardian
    • Certified birth certificate
    • Proof of residence
    • Proof of guardianship (if applicable)
    • Immunization record
    • Health assessment
APPLICATIONS FOR 2025-2026
  • Fill out the online enrollment form.
    • Links to online enrollment for all NEW Kindergarten students:
    • Links to online enrollment for all who are currently enrolled in Wilkes County Schools. You will need a "snap code" from your child's school.
    • Whether your child needs bus transportation or not please complete the Bus Ridership form. Forms are located at each school.
    • Bring the following enrollment items with you to your child's Kindergarten Screening Day.
      • Photo ID of parent/guardian
      • Certified birth certificate
      • Proof of residence
      • Proof of guardianship (if applicable)
      • Immunization record
      • Health assessment
