Kindergarten Enrollment
Kindergarten enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is open. Students must be at least 5 years old by August 31, 2024, to enroll in Kindergarten.
Enrollment is a multi-step process that begins in March.
- During March, parents/guardians should complete step 1.
- Step 2 in the process will occur during April or May by appointment.
Families that cannot attend Kindergarten enrollment activities should contact the school in their attendance district for more information.
Step 1: Kindergarten Fun Times
- Attend Kindergarten Fun Times. Fun Times events will be held during the month of March or April. Kindergarten Fun Times dates and Kindergarten Screening dates are listed in the table below.

Step 2: Kindergarten Screening
- Attend Kindergarten Screening. Screenings will be held the months of March, April, and May by appointment. Parents/guardians should call the school to schedule a screening appointment. Kindergarten Screening dates are in the table below.

- Fill out the online enrollment form.

- Links to online enrollment for all who are currently enrolled in Pre-K in Wilkes County Schools. You will need a "snap code" from your child's school.
- Fill out the Bus Ridership form. Forms are located at each school.
- Bring the following enrollment materials at your child's school on Kindergarten Screening Day.

- Certified birth certificate
- Proof of residence
- Proof of guardianship (if applicable)
- Immunization record
- Health assessment
