Success Academy for Elementary Students

Wilkes County Schools will hold a Success Academy for students in grades 3, 4 and 5 at each elementary school at the end of the school year. The academy provides opportunities for remediation in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade math and 5th grade science.  It also provides students an opportunity to take EOG re-administrations in math and science if they did not meet proficiency.  Due to the implementation of the new reading EOG, there will be no retesting available in reading. The Success Academy will be held during the last four teacher workdays of the 2019-20 school year. The dates will be determined after the final calendar is amended, if necessary, for inclement weather.
Third grade students who do not meet proficiency standards on the EOG in reading may attend the Read to Achieve Summer Camp and retake the Read to Achieve Assessment at the end.
