Success Academy for Elementary Students

Wilkes County Schools will hold a Success Academy for students in grades 4 and 5 at each elementary school at the end of the school year. The academy provides opportunities for remediation in 4th and 5th grade reading, and 5th grade science, and for students to retake EOG tests to improve their scores if they were close to proficiency. Due to the new NC State Math Standards and EOG being implemented this school year, there will be no retesting available in math. The Success Academy will be held during the last four teacher workdays of the 2018-19 school year. The dates will be determined after the final calendar is amended, if necessary, for inclement weather.
Third grade students who do not meet proficiency standards on the EOG in reading they may attend the Read to Achieve Summer Camp and retake the RTA Assessment at the end.
