Class Location: North Wilkes High School (Basement classroom beside weight room)
Tentative Date Range: February 5-28
Proposed Class Dates: February 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27, and 28 (Make-up Day)
Class Time: Monday-Thursday from 3:30-6:00 PM
Make-up Date: Wednesday, February 28th will be required for any student who misses a day of class
Disclaimer: Dates are always subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances. Class size will be limited and priority given to older students. A second class will be offered if needed. If school is closed or dismissed early due to weather, driver education is also canceled.
State law requires students to be 14½ on or before the first day of class.
Registration forms may be picked up in the front office or downloaded from the district website (click here to access the online Driver's Education Registration Form). Include the student's school email address (if applicable) and at least two (2) phone numbers.
Forms and the $65 course fee should be returned to school by Friday, January 26, 2024. Please make checks payable to North Wilkes High School or bring exact change.
Class size will be limited, and another class will be scheduled if the need arises. Preference will be given to the oldest students.
Any student who registered for a previous class and did not attend must register again. If payment was made, it will carry over to this class.
This is a 30-hour course, and all students must attend 30 hours of instruction. Only one absence is allowed and must be made up.
The class is open to all public school, private school, and homeschooled students.
