Wilkes County is located in northwest North Carolina at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Within the county, there are two towns (Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro) as well as many smaller communities. In Wilkes, you have the best of both worlds - small town living with large city opportunities. We offer outdoor activities, cultural entertainment, continuing education, shopping, and we are also within easy driving range of many larger cities (Hickory, Winston-Salem, and Charlotte).
