Congratulations to Aaron Simmons, tennis coach at East Wilkes High School, for being named a top 15 finalist in the U.S. Cellular Most Valuable Coach Award and winning $5,000 for his school! He finished second in the first round of voting, and the final round of voting will run from noon on October 11 through November 13.

The final winner is now selected based on votes from the public (50%) and judges' input (50%). Voting is done at www.themostvaluablecoach.com and can be done DAILY. The winner will receive a $50,000 community grant and $30,000 worth of technology for the school. The runner-up receives $20,000, and the 3rd place coach receives $10,000. Coach Simmons has already won $5,000 for his school by being named to the Final 15. This will be presented at a school pep rally on October 25th. As one of two remaining coaches from NC, he needs our support!
