Congratulations to our 2025-2026 WCS Teacher and Principal of the Year! Teacher of the Year is Mr. Anthony Benson from West Wilkes High School, and Principal of the Year is Mrs. Nikki Patrick from Millers Creek Elementary School! We are so proud of you both!

During a recent visit to Wilkes County Schools, NC State Superintendent Mo Green stopped in to congratulate our Chief Technology Officer, Julie Triplett, who was named the 2025 NCDPI Digital Teaching and Learning Technology Director of the Year! He was just as proud of her as we are!

On April 23, McNeill Nissan of Wilkesboro delivered a brand new truck to our newly named WCS Teacher of the Year, Mr. Anthony Benson, who gets to drive it for an entire year! His class enjoyed helping him celebrate. We are so grateful for McNeill Nissan's generous support and commitment to our amazing educators! We are excited to celebrate Dr. Kelly Pipes from Wilkes Early College High School, who was recently awarded a tremendous $175,000 grant from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund! This prestigious award will support professional development and help enrich STEM experiences for students in classrooms, schools, and communities across our region.
