The WCS ESL Department hosted its first CultureFest on Thursday, October 5th from 5:30-7:00 PM. Many businesses attended to provide resources, information, games, prizes, entertainment, and delicious food. The great community turnout made this event a huge success! The Wilkes County Schools Instructional Services Team was recently awarded the NCDPI Science of Reading Innovative Inspiration Award. This award recognizes exemplary leaders who have guided in unique or innovative ways to shift the system culture to support Science of Reading implementation and sustainability. Congratulations on achieving this honor!

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. recently paid a special visit to read to students in Wilkes County. He presented each student with their own copy of his new book and presented the school district with $50,000 for school media centers and reading programs!
