All Driver and Traffic Safety Education instructors shall hold a valid North Carolina driver's license. Beginning teachers shall have a driver's license without a conviction for any moving violation or without a chargeable accident on record for a two-year period immediately prior to employment. Conviction for a moving violation for which the instructor's driver's license is suspended or revoked shall call for automatic suspension of authorization to teach Driver and Traffic Safety Education. Those instructors whose authorization to teach has been suspended shall be required to hold a valid driver’s license before reinstatement.
