Additional Information and Requirements

State law requires that students must be 14½ years old by the first day of class.

The registration form must be returned to the school's main office by Friday, May 31, 2024. Be sure to include the student's school email address, student ID number, and a cell phone number for both the student and a parent on the form. Homeschool students will also need a valid email address. It is very important that all information is legible and accurate.

The classes are open to all public school students, homeschooled students, and private school students.

The course is 30 hours long, and students are required to attend every day. Students may miss one class session for any reason but must attend the make-up day in order to complete the required classroom instruction. Students must attend 15 of 16 sessions, and there are no exceptions. The State of North Carolina requires 30 hours of classroom instruction.

Class fees are $65. Please make checks payable to North Wilkes High School or bring $65 cash.

Please print and complete the Driver's Education Enrollment form (or pick one up in the school office).
