WWHS Driver's Education Schedule - Summer 2024

Class Location:  West Wilkes Middle School
 
Be sure to check which session your child plans to attend.
 
 
Session 1 Class Dates:  June 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 (Make-Up Day)
 
Session 1 Class Times:  8 AM to 12 PM on June 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, and 19; 8 AM to 11 AM on June 14 and 20
 
Session 1 Makeup Date:  Friday, June 21st will be the make-up day for any student that missed one day
 
Session 2 Class Dates:  July 29, 30, 31; August 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 (Make-Up Day)
 
Session 2 Class Times:  Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8 AM - 12 PM; Thursday from 8 - 11 AM
 
Session 2 Makeup Date:  Friday, August 9th will be the make-up day for any student that missed one day
 
Parent Meeting:  Thursday, June 6th at 6 PM in the Media Center at West Wilkes Middle School
A $65 fee will be collected for the class at this time. Please make checks payable to West Wilkes High School or bring cash. Class rules and regulations will be discussed as well. This meeting will be for both session 1 and 2.
 
Registration:  Please return completed registration forms to the main office at West Wilkes High School or West Wilkes Middle School before Wednesday, June 5th. Be sure to check which session your child plans to attend.

 
Additional Information and Requirements
 
State law requires students to be 14½ on or before the first day of class.
 
This is a 30-hour course, and all students must attend 30 hours of instruction. Only one absence is allowed and must be made up on the designated make-up day.
 
The class is open to all public school, private school, and homeschooled students.
 
The $65 fee will be collected during the scheduled parent meetings. Please make checks payable to West Wilkes High School or bring cash.
 
Registration forms may be picked up at the front office at West Wilkes High School, West Wilkes Middle School, WECHS, or MCCS. You may also download and print the form from the district website (click here to access the online Driver's Education registration form). Be sure to include the student's school email address (if applicable) and at least two (2) phone numbers. Also include which session your child plans to attend.
