The Wilkes County Board of Education strives for a productive working relationship with the county commissioners so that funding can be provided to meet the educational goals of the Board of Education. The Board of Education will seek opportunities to inform and educate the county commissioners about the needs of the schools, including through the development of five year capital outlay plans and the annual budget. The Board of Education welcomes periodic joint meetings between the boards as a means of strengthening the relationship with the board of county commissioners, clarifying expectations regarding the budget process, and educating the commissioners on the needs of the schools.
