Welcome to the Remote Learning Grading Guidance site for Seniors. This is the Wilkes County Schools' plan for Spring 2020.

Wilkes County Schools' focus for seniors will be number one to make sure that seniors meet the State Board of Education's twenty-two graduation requirements to graduate this year. Fall courses will stand as they are, and those grades will count in a senior's GPA. For spring courses, students will receive a pass (PC19) or withdrawal (WC19) based on their learning as of March 13th for all spring courses. If a senior was passing on March 13th, they will receive credit for that course with a PC19 on their transcript. If a senior is not passing graduation requirement courses on March 13th, the teacher will provide remote learning opportunities for the student to improve to a passing grade on topics covered up to March 13th, so the student can acquire that graduation credit. If a senior is not passing a course that is not a graduation requirement, they can be withdrawn (WC19) on the transcript, or they may stay in the course and continue working toward a passing grade. If the grade improves to passing, the student will receive a PC19 on their High School transcript. If their grade does not improve to passing, the student will receive a WC19.

Our current plan for seniors in Career and College Promise courses are that number one seniors need to know that CCP courses are still in session, and if you continue with your CCP course to completion, your final grade for the course will appear on your college transcript. Your high school transcript will have a PC19. If you cannot complete your CCP course for any reason, you may withdraw from the course penalty-free. This does not impact your high school GPA or your college transcript. Please contact your Career Coach and/or your school counselor for more information. If you cannot complete your CCP course, and this course is a requirement for high school graduation, you must contact your high school counselor immediately to develop a plan to acquire that required graduation credit.

Our current plan for seniors for the Class of 2020
Instruction for senior courses will continue through the end of the school year. The school year is not over, and we expect learning to continue until the end of the school year. We want to promote student growth and prepare our students for the next level of education or career after graduation. So, we will continue contact with students providing meaningful feedback and connection to school. Graduation will occur at the end of the school year as planned.
