School Board Receives Golden Bell Award

On September 28th, members of the Wilkes County Board of Education were presented with the Golden Bell Award by the North Carolina School Board Association at their regional meeting. Angel Bell Receives HOPE Award

Angel Bell, a social worker at five elementary schools and one middle school, was recognized this month as the first recipient of the HOPE Award. She was selected from 11 nominees that included school counselors, nurses, and social workers. HOPE stands for Helping Other People Excel.

Wilkes County Band Expo

The annual Wilkes County Band Expo will be Thursday, November 10th at 6:30pm in the Wilkes Central High School stadium. All four high school bands will perform their 2016 shows and will honor all Veterans by playing "God Bless America" as a unified, school district band. This is an excellent opportunity to come out and support all the bands in the county and enjoy an evening of entertainment as we showcase our students' many talents. Tickets are $5.00 at the door and includes a program. Hope to see everyone there!

RoadMap to College Night

RoadMap to College Night will be held on September 13, 2016 at 6:30pm in the Stone Center for Performing Arts. All students currently in grades 6-9 and their parents are encouraged to attend this program to help make plans and decisions in middle and high school that will lead to some type of education or training that links to a career goal.

Congratulations to our Principal and Teacher of the Year!

Wilkes County Schools proudly congratulates Mr. Ritchie Cornette of Mulberry Elementary School, who was named Wilkes County Schools 2016-2017 Principal of the Year, and Ms. Belinda Marino from Moravian Falls Elementary School, who was named Wilkes County Schools 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year.
