Inclement Weather Announcement

Wilkes County Schools will operate on a two hour delay on Friday, October 27th. Buses will not leave schools before 7:45 am, so pick up times should be roughly two hours later than normal.

ACT Prep Program

An ACT Prep Program is being offered for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The program offers 28 hours of instruction along with a pre and post test. Thirty-four employees were honored on May 9th at the annual retirement banquet held at the Stone Center. Altogether, this distinguished group has provided over 860 years of combined service! Wilkes County Schools appreciates the dedication, service, and commitment shown to our students and school district by each of you, and we join you in celebrating this milestone! NC State Science Fair Award Winners

Wilkes County Schools was represented well at the NC State Science Fair this year. We are so proud of Ralee, Alea, and Anna Grace for receiving Exemplary Awards! This award is the highest in the Elementary Division and is given to the top fifteen students that compete at this level. Congratulations on a job well done!

The Wilkes County Hall of Fame (WCHOF) Governing Board would like to announce the fourth class of inductees. The eight inductees were chosen from over fifty-five nominees. Middle Schools Participate in The Leader in Me

Community LEAD Day was recently hosted in two of our middle schools. This was a wonderful opportunity to showcase how our students are growing as leaders. WCS Kindergartener Rings the Literacy Bell

Kellan Barton, a kindergartener in Ms. Campbell's room at North Wilkesboro Elementary School, was the first child to ring the new Literacy Bell at the Wilkes County Public Library!
